n 1992 just out of high school, Amanda Bossard started her education in marine biology at Alaska Pacific University in Anchorage,AK. Bossard began her career in the industry of commercial seafood in 1999. At the time she was employed in Murat Aritan's 65 foot halibut vessel, later converted into a fish tender. Bossard and Aritan have been married since 1993 and have joined forces in claiming their share of their industry. Both of them are in favor of conserving resources and optimizing profit. Otolith was founded at the time of Philadelphia in the year 2000 by Bella Bossard who is now mom to two boys aged 3 and 1, Bossard. In 2007, Bossard a mother of two children Bella aged 3 and Andre 1, and returning to Philadelphia from her home in Canada, opened Otolith as a direct-market wholesale seafood distributor. Bossard, their son Andre and Isabella, her daughter Isabella will be returning back to Southeast Alaska every summer as deckhands for the harvest of wild salmon. Following two years of fishing using hooks along with lines and a 42-foot salmon troller they have joined Aritan and sold local processors of seafood.
